Sunny Deol's film "Jaat" has maintained a steady box office performance, earning Rs. 78.25 crore in India after 13 days despite facing controversy and competition from Akshay Kumar's "Kesari Chapter 2", with a decent opening and continued audience interest.

The film earned Rs. 2 crore on its second Tuesday, with a Hindi occupancy of 15.68%, and had a decent opening with Rs. 9.5 crore on Day 1, collecting around Rs. 61.75 crore in its first week. A sequel, "Jaat 2", is in the works, with Sunny Deol confirming the project in a video, indicating the film's success and potential for further growth.

The film has beaten the lifetime collection of "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", which stood at Rs. 76.65 crore for over 20 years, and has become the third highest-grossing film of Deol's career after 'Gadar' and 'Gadar 2'. It is approaching its third weekend with expectations of crossing the Rs 100 crore mark, having earned Rs 1.09 crore nett on its 2nd Wednesday, taking its 14-day total to near Rs 80 crore nett.

Despite new releases this weekend, 'Jaat' has withstood every challenge so far, and it will be interesting to see how it takes its run forward from here, with 'Kesari Chapter 2' also performing well in theaters, setting up an intriguing competition between the two films.
