Travis Head, the opener for Sunrisers Hyderabad, has become the second-fastest to reach 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League, achieving this milestone in his 31st innings during a match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.

Head began his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2016 and 2017, before being acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2024. In his first season with SRH, he scored 567 runs at a strike rate of 191.55, showcasing his impressive batting skills. He is now third on the list of fastest to 1000 IPL runs, behind Andre Russell and Heinrich Klaasen.

As SRH prepares to face Mumbai Indians on April 17, 2025, at Wankhede Stadium, Head's form will be crucial in determining the team's performance. He has a good record against MI's pace duo, Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah, having never been dismissed by them in the IPL. Head has faced 31 balls from the duo, scoring 39 runs with a strike rate of 135.71.

Travis Head has also spoken about SRH's aggressive batting approach in the IPL 2025, stating that it comes naturally to the team. He credits the team's experienced players and good balance between hunger and aggression for making it easy to adapt to this tactic. Head's aggressive batting, along with Abhishek Sharma's, helped SRH chase down a target easily against Punjab Kings, scoring 66 and 141 runs respectively.

With his impressive record and current form, Travis Head is set to play a key role in SRH's upcoming match against Mumbai Indians. His ability to handle top-tier fast bowling and his aggressive batting approach make him a threat at the top of the order, and if he gets going, MI will be under pressure early.
