Abhishek Sharma's remarkable 141 runs off 55 balls helped Sunrisers Hyderabad chase down a target of 246 runs against Punjab Kings, ending their four-match losing streak in the 2025 season.

Sharma's teammate, Travis Head, revealed that the note he pulled out of his pocket after reaching the triple-digit score had been there since the start of the season, reading "This one is for Orange Army." Sharma credited his teammates, including Yuvi paji and Suryakumar Yadav, for their support, and said the atmosphere in the team remained positive despite the losses. He also mentioned that his parents, who were watching from the stands, were lucky for the team.

The easy-paced wicket allowed Sharma to invent and innovate his shots, and he said he didn't talk to his partner, Head, but played naturally. SRH skipper Pat Cummins praised Sharma's batting, saying he was a big fan and that the team was happy with his form. Kavya Maran, co-owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad, was overjoyed when Abhishek Sharma scored his maiden IPL century, hitting 141 runs with 10 sixes and 14 boundaries.

Sharma's performance ended SRH's four-match losing streak in the 2025 season, and he expressed gratitude to his captain, management, and mentors for their support during his tough start to the season. This score is the third-highest individual score in IPL history, and it has brought new hope to the team and its fans.
