Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer bowled a fiery bouncer to welcome former England captain and ex-RR player Jos Buttler, who responded by hitting a boundary on the next ball, in the IPL 2025 match between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals.

The incident occurred during the GT vs RR match, where Archer removed GT skipper Shubman Gill for 2 runs, and Buttler and Sai Sudarshan rebuilt the innings, stitching an 80-run partnership before Buttler fell to Maheesh Theekshana. Archer's delivery to Gill was a 147.7 kmph screamer that rattled the stumps, and this is the third time Gill has been dismissed by Archer in the tournament.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first, with Sanju Samson citing dew as a reason. Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill said they would have also bowled first. The match is part of the 23rd encounter of the IPL 2025. Irfan Pathan predicted Shubman Gill's dismissal by Jofra Archer before the GT vs RR match, and his prediction came true.

GT lost Gill early, but Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler fought back to take the team to 56/1 in 6 overs. Buttler fell in the 10th over, LBW to spinner Maheesh Theekshana, and GT reached 94/2. Sudharsan carried on his rich vein of form and shared a good stand with Shahrukh Khan to take GT within reach of a massive total at the end of 14 overs.

The Titans look on course for a 200-run total, and the Royals need to make inroads soon to restrict the run flow. With Archer in form, taking one wicket against Chennai Super Kings and a three-wicket haul against Punjab Kings, the match is expected to be a thrilling encounter.
