Singer Sunanda Sharma has come forward with a disturbing account of mental harassment and exploitation in the music industry, alleging that she was subjected to unfair treatment by music producer Pinky Dhaliwal, which led her to consider ending her life on multiple occasions.

Sharma, a popular singer, claimed that Dhaliwal had promised her lucrative projects and financial gains but failed to deliver, instead exploiting her financially and emotionally. She alleged that Dhaliwal pressured her to perform at events and concerts without fair compensation, forged her signature on contracts, and took control of her music rights and creative assets without her knowledge.

The police have arrested Pinky Dhaliwal, who runs companies like Mad4Music and Amar Audio, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including cheating, forgery, and criminal intimidation. Another singer, Shree Brar, has also lodged a complaint against Dhaliwal, alleging deceitful acts against him, backed by evidence. The incident has sparked a debate about the need for stronger safeguards to protect artists from unscrupulous practices in the entertainment industry.

The arrest of Pinky Dhaliwal has brought relief to Sunanda Sharma, who expressed gratitude for the prompt action taken by the authorities. The case highlights the importance of protecting artists' rights and ensuring that they are treated fairly and with respect in the industry.
