Rashid Latif: RCB Won't Win IPL with MS Dhoni

The IPL 2025 season is set to begin on March 22, with RCB facing defending champions KKR in their first match. With a strong lineup and a new captain, RCB will look to finally win their maiden IPL title, but Rashid Latif's warning suggests that it won't be easy with MS Dhoni leading CSK.

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has warned Royal Challengers Bengaluru that they will not win the Indian Premier League title as long as MS Dhoni is playing for Chennai Super Kings, despite the team's strong lineup including Virat Kohli.

Latif's comments came after Ahmed Shehzad suggested that if Mohammad Amir played for RCB, they could win the title, citing the team's weak bowling unit. However, Latif believes that RCB will not be able to compete with CSK as long as Dhoni is at the helm. RCB, one of the founding teams of the IPL, have never won the title despite having players like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle.

RCB will start their campaign in the upcoming IPL 2025 against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 22, led by new captain Rajat Patidar. The team will look to win their first IPL title, which would be a significant achievement for Virat Kohli, who has been part of the franchise since its inception in 2008. Virat Kohli's performance in the last season was impressive, finishing with 741 runs in 15 matches at an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.69.

The upcoming IPL season is expected to be highly competitive, with several teams having a strong chance of winning the title. However, according to Rashid Latif, RCB's chances of winning the title are slim as long as MS Dhoni is playing for CSK. The presence of Dhoni, a highly experienced and successful captain, gives CSK an edge over other teams, including RCB.
