Storms Hit Dallas Wise County Schools Closed
The severe storms caused widespread disruptions, with school closures and power outages affecting thousands of residents, and the National Weather Service confirming two EF-1 tornadoes in the area, highlighting the need for continued caution and awareness as the community recovers from the damage.

Severe storms caused power outages and property damage in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, leading to school closures in several districts, including McKinney, Forney, Irving, and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISDs, with restoration efforts expected to be completed by Thursday evening.
The storms resulted in significant damage to apartments and businesses in Irving, with winds reaching 110 mph and a 0.42-mile path, causing roughly 350 people to be evacuated and several schools to be closed due to downed power lines and a gas leak. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported.
In Wise County, a second EF-1 tornado was confirmed, bringing the total to two tornadoes confirmed by the National Weather Service, with wind speeds of up to 110 mph near Cottondale, and damage reported, although the extent of property damage is unclear. Oncor reported that about 45,000 customers were without power in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with the hardest-hit areas including Irving, McKinney, and Farmers Branch.
As the community begins to recover from the storms, residents are advised to remain cautious and follow updates from local authorities, with some areas potentially not having power restored until Friday. The National Weather Service will continue to assess the damage and provide updates on the tornadoes that affected the region.
