Bise Lahore Roll Number Slip for Matric Exams Ensures Transparency
The online roll number slip system is a significant step towards ensuring transparency and fairness in the examination process, and with the automated deployment of invigilators and verification of teachers' data, the system aims to provide a secure and authentic examination experience for all students, and the success of this system will pave the way for its implementation in other educational boards across Pakistan.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has introduced an online roll number slip system for matric exams, featuring QR codes to ensure authenticity and transparency, as 568,854 students prepare to take the exams across Punjab, including 120,024 in Rawalpindi Division.
A total of 399 examination centers have been set up in Rawalpindi Division, with 97 declared highly sensitive, and security arrangements have been finalized, including the installation of CCTV cameras, deployment of police personnel, and imposition of Section 144 around centers. The online roll number slip system, launched under the task force committee, includes automated deployment of invigilators and examination staff, aiming to streamline the process, reduce fraudulent activities, and provide a secure examination experience.
The system also features an automated setup to deploy invigilators, which will automate the allotment of duties without user intervention, and verify teachers' data to prevent favouritism and cheating. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has warned against cheating, saying controlling exam malpractice is his top priority, and measures to ensure transparency include CCTV surveillance, no private staff as invigilators, and reduced private examination centers.
The BISE Lahore plans to make the entire examination process digital, with the online roll number slip system serving as a model for other educational boards in Pakistan, and special monitoring squads have been formed to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the exams, with students and citizens able to report suspicious activity at examination centers by calling 042-36288119.
