Rassie van der Dussen has completed 2,500 runs in ODIs, achieving the milestone in his 69th match against Afghanistan, while Heinrich Klaasen has been ruled out of South Africa's opening match due to a precautionary measure for a left elbow soft tissue injury.

Klaasen, who has been in good form, scoring 86, 97, 81, and 87 in his last four ODI innings, will be missed in the match. He averages 44.12 from 54 ODI innings, with a strike rate of 117.44, and has the highest strike rate against spinners since 2020 among batters who have faced 500-plus balls of spin, with a strike rate of 125.31.

On the other hand, Rassie van der Dussen's achievement is a significant milestone for the South African team. He scored 52 off 46 balls, including three fours and two sixes, and has now surpassed 2,500 runs at an average of 48.38. He has also surpassed 6,000 runs in List A cricket, achieving the mark in 161 games.
