Pakistan's left-handed opener Imam-ul-Haq has taken to social media to express his disappointment after being left out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, as the team gears up to face New Zealand and South Africa in a tri-nation series before the prestigious tournament kicks off on February 19.

Imam's exclusion from the squad has come as a surprise, given his strong domestic performances. However, the selectors have opted for Fakhar Zaman and Usman Khan in the top order alongside Rizwan and Babar Azam. The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will see Pakistan face tough opponents, including India and Bangladesh, in a bid to prove its cricket prowess. The team's squad has been selected with an eye on the "horses for courses" principle, with a mix of youth and experience.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-player squad for the tournament, with Mohammad Rizwan set to lead the team. The squad includes experienced players like Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, as well as recalled players like Fakhar Zaman and Faheem Ashraf. Aaqib Javed will continue as the Interim Coach, as the team prepares to take on the best teams in the world.

The champion trophy schedule is packed with exciting matches, including the tournament opener against New Zealand in Karachi, followed by a highly-anticipated match against India in Dubai. With a tri-series against South Africa and New Zealand before the Champions Trophy, the team has been given sufficient time to prepare and fine-tune its strategy.

As Pakistan gears up to take on the world's best teams, the exclusion of Imam-ul-Haq has raised eyebrows, but the team's focus remains on the champion trophy schedule and the upcoming matches. With a strong squad and experienced players, Pakistan is ready to put up a strong fight in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
