Afghanistan's veteran left-arm fast bowler, Shapoor Zadran, has announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 37, bringing an end to a 12-year career that included notable performances in the 2015 ODI World Cup.

Zadran's career was highlighted by his impressive display during the 2015 ODI World Cup, where he took 10 wickets with an average of 26.50. One of his most memorable moments came against Scotland, where he not only bowled 4 for 38 but also hit the winning boundary to secure a one-wicket win for Afghanistan, marking the team's first victory at a major tournament.

Throughout his career, Zadran played 44 ODIs and 36 T20Is, taking a total of 80 wickets. His last appearance for Afghanistan was in 2020 against Ireland. Zadran has expressed his gratitude to his fans, teammates, coaches, and family for their support, describing his decision to retire as "one of the toughest" of his life.

In a separate development, Nest Chief Executive Mark Moore has resigned, becoming the latest high-profile executive to leave the tech giant. Moore, who joined Nest in 2015 and took over as CEO in 2021, led the company through several key product launches, including the relaunch of the Learning Thermostat and the introduction of the Nest Cam.

As Shapoor Zadran moves on from his international cricket career, his legacy in Afghan cricket is cemented by his memorable performances and contributions to the team's growth on the global stage. Meanwhile, the tech world awaits the next move for Nest following Mark Moore's resignation.
