Aston Villa's Jhon Duran Near Al Nassr Move
Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran is on the verge of completing a transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, with the deal reportedly worth €77 million plus add-ons, making him the second most expensive signing by a Saudi Arabian club.
The 21-year-old Colombian forward is set to undergo a medical in London on Thursday, paving the way for a 5.5-year contract with Al Nassr. This transfer would see Duran join the Saudi Pro League, ending Aston Villa's pursuit of Victor Boniface. Duran has had an impressive season, scoring 12 goals in 29 appearances, including 20 in 78 games since joining Aston Villa in January 2023.
Aston Villa had previously rejected a £57m offer from Al Nassr in the summer, but it appears the Saudi Arabian club has returned with an improved offer that Villa is willing to accept. The transfer, first reported by Fabrizio Romano, is believed to be completed before the end of January, with add-ons likely to take the total value above €100 million.
This move would see Al Nassr surpass their previous record signing, with Duran becoming one of the most expensive signings in the Saudi Pro League. The transfer window is still open, and several clubs, including FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Inter Milan, are still looking to make signings before the end of the month.
The transfer market is heating up, with various clubs and players involved in ongoing negotiations. As the January transfer window draws to a close, fans can expect more exciting deals to be announced in the coming days.
