Mohammad Huraira Shines as Shaheens Reply to West Indies

Updated :

In an exciting display of batting, Pakistan Shaheens' Mohammad Huraira scored a fluent 74, setting the tone for his team's reply to West Indies' 346-8 in their four-day tour match at the Islamabad Club.

Huraira's impressive innings, which included 13 fours and 4 sixes, helped the Shaheens establish a foundation of 212-9 in 58 overs. However, the team's progress was hindered by the loss of seven wickets for 92 runs. Mohammad Suleman contributed 45 runs, while Rohail Nazir added 21 to the total. The West Indies' bowlers, Kevin Sinclair, Gudakesh Motie, and Jayden Seales, took three, two, and two wickets, respectively, to restrict the Shaheens' scoring.

Earlier, West Indies' Alick Athanaze fell just short of a century, scoring 99 runs as his team closed the first day of the three-day warm-up match with 273-7 in 74 overs. The opening partnership between Kraigg Brathwaite and Mikyle Louis yielded 47 runs before Brathwaite was dismissed by Ahmed Safi Abdullah. Mohammad Rameez Jnr claimed three wickets, including those of Louis, Keacy Carty, and Kavem Hodge. Amir Jangoo and Joshua Da Silva will resume batting for West Indies on the second day with 16 overs remaining in the first innings.

As the match progresses, it will be interesting to see how both teams strategize and adapt to the conditions at the Islamabad Club. The performance of Mohammad Huraira and other batters will be crucial in determining the outcome of the tour match.
