Fateh Box Office Collection Day 4: Underperforms

Updated :

The highly anticipated action drama 'Fateh', directed by and starring Sonu Sood, has failed to impress at the box office, with its four-day collection totaling a mere Rs. 7.60 crores, despite its unique premise and notable ensemble cast, including Vijay Raaz and Naseeruddin Shah.

The film's opening day saw a modest collection of Rs. 2.4 crores, which, although not stellar, hinted at potential for growth. However, the subsequent days told a different story, with the collection dipping to Rs. 2.1 crore on the second day and slightly recovering to Rs. 2.25 crore on the third day. The most significant drop came on the first Monday, with the film managing to collect only Rs. 85 lakhs, marking a substantial decline in its box office earnings. This trajectory indicates a challenging road ahead for 'Fateh' as it competes with other big-budget films, notably the Hindi-dubbed version of Ram Charan's 'Game Changer', which is nearing the Rs. 100 crore mark with a collection of Rs. 97 crore in the same timeframe.

The movie's premise, inspired by real-life instances of cybercrime during the Covid-19 pandemic, coupled with Sonu Sood's meticulous efforts in crafting its action sequences, had generated considerable buzz. Yet, the low occupancy rate of 10.37% on its first Monday suggests that 'Fateh' has not managed to capture a broad audience, despite its discounted ticket price strategy aimed at attracting more viewers. The underperformance of 'Fateh' at the box office raises questions about the film's ability to recover its investment and leave a lasting impact on the cinematic landscape.

As the box office numbers continue to unfold, it will be interesting to observe how 'Fateh' navigates the competitive cinematic space, especially against the backdrop of 'Game Changer's' remarkable success. The fate of Sonu Sood's directorial debut hangs in the balance, with its future at the box office looking increasingly uncertain.
