Mbappé Readies for Return to France National Team

Updated :

Kylian Mbappé is expected to rejoin the France national team, following a month-long absence due to a thigh injury, according to reports. Recent performances for Real Madrid may have contributed to his readmission.

The development comes after Mbappé played for Real Madrid in the Champions League and a league match, which indicates his recovery. As a result, he is likely to rejoin the team to boost his chances at the 2025 Ballon d'Or. This move could also see him regaining his position in the team ahead of the remaining UEFA Nations League matches, where France currently sits second in Group 2 with 9 points from 4 games.

Mbappé's initial exclusion from the team for the upcoming matches against Israel and Italy was announced by coach Didier Deschamps. However, this is not the first time Mbappé has been left out of the squad this year. He was absent for the Euro 2024 qualifiers, marking the second instance of his exclusion in 2024. Mbappé has missfed two consecutive matches for France since his last appearance in a 2-0 win against Belgium.

France will host Israel on November 15 and then travel to Italy for their next match. The team must focus on a strong performance in the remaining matches to secure their spot in a major tournament and increase Mbappé's chances at the Ballon d'Or.
