Rishabh Pant's injury has added to India's woes, but his determination to bat despite the injury has earned him praise from the cricketing community, with many drawing parallels to his fearless approach with that of veteran batsmen like Robin Uthappa.

Pant suffered an injury to his right foot on Day 1 of the Manchester Test, forcing him to be ruled out of wicket-keeping duties for the remainder of the match. However, he returned to bat on Day 2, displaying immense grit and resilience, scoring 54 runs off 75 deliveries, including three fours and two sixes, to notch his third half-century in the series.

The injury to Pant has added to India's concerns, following the losses of Nitish Kumar Reddy, Akash Deep, and Arshdeep Singh due to injuries. Ishan Kishan, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter, was initially considered to join the Indian Test squad for the fifth and final Test against England after Rishabh Pant's injury. However, he had to reject the BCCI's proposal due to a left ankle injury he sustained after falling from a scooter and needing stitches.

As a result, the BCCI had to select Tamil Nadu keeper-batter Narayan Jagadeesan as Pant's cover for the fifth Test. Despite the setbacks, India will be looking to bounce back strong in the final Test, with Pant's courage and determination serving as a motivation to the rest of the team.
