Pakistani Batter, Babar Azam, Smashes Record for Highest 50+ Scores Against SENA Countries

Updated :

Pakistan's cricket team captain, Babar Azam, has achieved a remarkable milestone by breaking MS Dhoni's record for most 50-plus scores against SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia) countries. Azam reached this milestone while scoring 73 runs off 95 balls against South Africa in the second One-Day International (ODI) match.

Azam's impressive knock also saw him break his own 296-day half-century drought, and his innings helped Pakistan secure a two-wicket victory over South Africa, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The third ODI is scheduled for December 22 in Johannesburg, followed by a test series starting on December 26. With this accomplishment, Azam surpassed Dhoni's record of 38 50+ scores against the mentioned countries, further solidifying his reputation as one of the world's top cricketers.

Babar Azam also reached his 33rd fifty in the ODI format, taking the top spot from former Indian captain MS Dhoni in the process. His continued success has led to talk of potential record-breaking achievements awaiting him in the near future, including being close to breaking Hashim Amla's record for the fastest to 6000 ODI runs. Azam currently stands just one century shy of matching Saeed Anwar's record of 20 ODI centuries for a Pakistani batter.

With Azam's remarkable performance, Pakistan has put themselves in a strong position heading into the final ODI match and the subsequent test series. The team's momentum and confidence are expected to be on the rise, with the pressure now on South Africa to respond. The cricket world will be watching with great interest as Azam continues to shatter records and push the boundaries of excellence in the sport.
