Ayatollah Sistani Not Involved as Iraqi Groups Threaten US
The threats against US citizens and the warnings of disastrous consequences have added to the complexity of the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, with multiple factions involved and the potential for widespread violence and destruction.

Iraqi militant group Harakat al-Nujaba has threatened to attack US citizens if Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is targeted, warning that US soldiers, diplomats, and citizens in the region would be legitimate targets.
The group's leader, Akram al-Kaabi, issued the warning in response to threats made by Israeli and US leaders against Khamenei, which have escalated tensions in the region. Another powerful Iraqi faction, Kataeb Hezbollah, also warned US President Trump of "unprecedented calamities and destruction" if the US goes to war in support of Israel.
Hezbollah has expressed support for Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, warning that threats to assassinate him would have "disastrous consequences." The group deemed the threats made by Israeli and US leaders as "foolish and reckless." Despite condemning the attack on Iran, Hezbollah has not joined the fighting against Israel since Jerusalem began striking inside Iran on Friday.
The situation in the region remains volatile, with warnings of an all-out regional war. The threats made by Iraqi militant groups have raised concerns about the safety of US citizens in the region, and the potential for further escalation of the conflict.
