The draw for the Euro 2025 tournament has created a thrilling landscape for this summer's championship, with top contenders facing off in potentially lopsided groupings. England, looking to defend their title, has been matched against Wales, Netherlands, and France, while reigning world champions Spain will take on Italy, Belgium, and Portugal, seeking to secure the coveted triple crown.

England manager Sarina Wiegman expressed her enthusiasm for the draw, describing it as "very interesting and very exciting," while Welsh midfielder Jess Fishlock expressed similar eagerness to face off against top teams, calling qualifying "a really special moment" and stating, "I'm just can't wait." The Lionesses will be tested against France, ranked 11th in the world, as part of their group, in addition to Wales, who ranked 30th. The Netherlands, ranked 10th, will be another formidable opponent for England in the group stage.

Meanwhile, Spain's path to a triple crown was piqued with their recent friendly loss to Italy, but they still reside with hope after winning the Nations League in February. The Spanish national team, led by coach Montse Tomé, is still set on claiming the championship title to add to their 2023 World Cup and inaugural Nations League victories. Their first match will be against Italy, which has emerged as their most formidable opponent, followed by Belgium and Portugal in their group.

As England's title defence gets underway, top teams England, Netherlands, France, and Spain will face their respective challenges in the groups, with only the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage. The tournament, set to take place from July 2-27 in Switzerland, will provide a thrilling spectacle for football fans this summer.
