Iman Pahlavi, the 31-year-old granddaughter of the last Shah of Iran, has married American businessman Bradley Sherman in a private ceremony in Paris, marking a historic union between the Iranian royal family and a Jewish-American partner.

The couple, who first met in 2017 through mutual friends, had previously registered their marriage in New York before exchanging vows in a lavish Parisian wedding. Iman, a senior manager at American Express, wore an Elie Saab gown for the ceremony, while Sherman wore a black tuxedo. The wedding was attended by prominent members of the Iranian royal family, including Queen Farah, the widow of the last Shah of Iran.

The union is significant, as it marks the first time a Jewish person has married into the Persian royal family in 2,500 years, since the Purim story. Iman, who was born and raised in the US, is the second daughter of former Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and Yasmine Pahlavi, and a descendant of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last monarch of Iran. Bradley, 35, works at an e-commerce firm and has been in a relationship with Iman for several years.

The wedding celebration featured an enchanted forest theme, with Iman changing into a strapless Elie Saab gown for the post-wedding festivities. The couple's marriage has brought together two different cultures and families, and is seen as a symbol of love and unity. Iman and Bradley's relationship has been strong, and they have been living together since the Covid-19 pandemic.
