Brazil has named Gotham FC forward Gabi Portilho to its 23-player roster for the 2025 Copa América, marking her return to the tournament after representing Brazil in the 2022 edition. Portilho, 29, previously played in four matches and recorded one assist as Brazil won the title. She joined Gotham FC from Corinthians in Brazil, where she spent four years and became a key contributor to one of South America's most dominant clubs.

Portilho has made seven appearances for Gotham FC, scoring on her debut and tallying two assists this season. The Brazilians will compete in Group B and begin play in Ecuador on July 13 against Venezuela. The team will also face Bolivia, Paraguay, and Colombia in the group stage. With Portilho's experience and skills, Brazil is looking to defend its title in the 2025 Copa América.

In addition to Portilho, other notable players have been named to Brazil's roster, including Orlando Pride midfielder Angelina and forward Marta. Angelina has played in 10 of the team's 11 matches this season and has been a vital presence on the field since joining the club in 2024. Marta, a six-time FIFA World Player of the Year, returns to the Brazilian national team for another major tournament after winning her third silver medal in the 2024 Paris Olympic games.
