Ipswich Town Eyes Liam Delap Replacement

Ipswich's interest in Latte Lath is driven by his proven track record in the Championship, where he scored 22 goals in 40 games for Middlesbrough, making him an attractive option as a replacement for Liam Delap, and the club's financial resources are expected to play a key role in securing his transfer.

Ipswich Town are reportedly eyeing a move for Atlanta United striker Emmanuel Latte Lath, just four months after the 26-year-old Ivorian left Championship side Middlesbrough to join the MLS side, as they search for a new striker with Chelsea's Liam Delap being a prime target.

The move would be a surprise, given Latte Lath's departure from Middlesbrough just months ago, but Ipswich have a longstanding interest in the striker. Latte Lath finished third in Middlesbrough's top scorer charts before his departure, but has struggled to find form in the MLS, netting just five times in 16 appearances. His current 10-match goalscoring drought may be a concern for Ipswich's transfer team, but the striker's return to the Championship could be a boost for the Tractor Boys' promotion hopes.

Ipswich Town, who recently relegated from the Premier League, are interested in signing Latte Lath as a replacement for Liam Delap. The club has the financial means to make a significant transfer, thanks to Premier League parachute payments and a £30m windfall from Delap's impending move to Chelsea. Latte Lath, who left Middlesbrough for Atlanta United in January, has struggled to adapt to life in the US and scored only 5 goals in 16 MLS matches.

The Championship transfer window is set to open on June 1, with all clubs allowed to bring in players until June 10. Portsmouth's rivals are already strengthening their squads, with Ipswich Town targeting former Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath for £22.5m. This could lead to a reunion between Latte Lath and Middlesbrough, who are unlikely to be able to re-sign him due to financial constraints.
