Matthew Potts Replaces Injured Jamie Overton

The replacement of Jamie Overton with Matthew Potts adds a new dynamic to England's team, and fans will be watching closely to see how Potts performs in the remaining ODIs. England's medical team will be working to rehabilitate Overton, who is expected to be out for about a month.

England's fast bowler Jamie Overton has been ruled out of the remaining two one-day internationals against West Indies due to a broken little finger suffered during the series-opener, with Matthew Potts replacing him in the England XI.

Overton, who made his ODI debut in October 2024, is expected to be out for about a month and will also miss the three T20s against West Indies. He sustained the injury during the first ODI at Edgbaston, where he scored a solitary run with the bat and took 3/22 with the ball, his best figures in the format.

England leads the series 1-0 and will play the 2nd ODI in Cardiff on June 1 and the 3rd ODI at The Oval on June 3. Overton will undergo rehabilitation under the England medical team, and no replacement will be added to the ODI squad. Matthew Potts' inclusion in the team is expected to bolster England's bowling attack.

The injury to Overton is a significant blow to England's chances, but the team will be hoping that Matthew Potts can fill the void and help them secure a series win against West Indies. With two matches remaining, England will be looking to build on their 1-0 lead and take the series.
