Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has released the first patch for Elden Ring Nightreign, a standalone adventure within the Elden Ring universe, aiming to improve gameplay and stability across various platforms.

The patch, version 1.01, is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, and includes changes such as improved character handling, soundtrack adjustments, and bug fixes. Players are advised to download and apply the latest update before launching the game to ensure a smooth experience. Additionally, the patch includes troubleshooting steps for PC players experiencing issues, and a warning has been issued for PC users with the latest graphics cards, as they may experience frame rate drops.

Junya Ishizaki, the director of Elden Ring: Nightreign, has spoken about his experience taking on the role, citing advice from Hidetaka Miyazaki to "not hold back" as a key takeaway. Ishizaki discussed the game's development, including the Closed Network Test, which helped inform the game's balance and player feedback. He also talked about the game's unique design decisions, such as the three-day/night cycle and the absence of a two-player option, emphasizing the importance of balancing the game for both solo and co-op play.

With the game's release set for May 30, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and Xbox One, players can expect an engaging experience with fast-paced co-op gameplay, despite some performance concerns. The director's vision and the team's efforts have brought the game to life, and the post-game features, including New Game Plus and other challenges, promise to provide a rich and rewarding experience for players.
