The federal budget for FY26 will be presented on June 10, 2025, as confirmed by the finance minister's adviser, despite earlier speculation of a delay due to Eid holidays. The Pakistan Economic Survey for FY25 will be released on June 9, 2025, a day before the budget presentation, providing an overview of the country's economic performance.

The budget announcement was initially scheduled for June 2 but was later moved to June 10. Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad clarified that there is no change in the budget date, contradicting earlier statements by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal. The federal government had previously presented a budget with a total outlay of Rs18.9 trillion, aiming to widen the tax base.

The federal budget for FY26 is being finalized in consultation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with possible revisions in the NEC meeting date. The finance minister has signaled tax relief for the salaried class, and talks with the IMF will resume with a focus on relief measures. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) funding decision is expected on June 3, and the APCC meeting schedule remains undecided.

The upcoming budget presentation is crucial for Pakistan's economic growth, and the government's decisions on tax relief and budget allocation will have a significant impact on the country's economy. The release of the Pakistan Economic Survey on June 9 will provide valuable insights into the country's economic performance and inform the budget decisions.
