A 2023 video of her singing "Popular" from the musical sparked speculation that she was auditioning for the role of Glinda, but Seyfried confirms that the video was actually recorded during a photoshoot three years earlier.

The video, which was part of a Lancôme campaign, showed Seyfried belting out the iconic song while wearing a stunning silver dress. While the video did eventually surface, Seyfried revealed that she indeed auditioned for the role of Glinda.
