China is showcasing its J-10C fighter jet at the LIMA 2025 defense exhibition in Malaysia, highlighting its advanced capabilities and reported combat success in the recent India-Pakistan war. The J-10C has been attracting significant attention from potential buyers, with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi showing interest in the aircraft.

The J-10C is a 4.5th-generation multi-role combat aircraft with advanced capabilities, including electronic warfare, precision strike, and beyond-visual-range combat. China is promoting the aircraft as a cost-competitive alternative to Western fighter jets, with a price tag of around $40-50 million per unit. The country is also displaying other advanced aircraft, including the FC-31 fighter jet and the Y-20 strategic transport aircraft.

China has been aggressively promoting the J-10C in the export market, but so far, only Pakistan has purchased the aircraft. The country is now trying to capitalize on unverified claims of the J-10C's combat success in the India-Pakistan war to attract more buyers. A documentary aired on Chinese state TV claims that the J-10C "recently shot down foreign aircraft in a real battle", highlighting its use by the Pakistan Air Force in a dogfight with the Indian Air Force.

The J-10C is currently on display at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition in Malaysia, where it is being praised for its advanced technology and combat capabilities. With China being the largest arms supplier to Pakistan, accounting for 81% of its defence imports from 2020 to 2024, the J-10C is expected to play a significant role in the country's defense strategy.
