West Indies Draws First Blood in Bangladesh

Updated :

In a dominating display, the West Indies Cricket Team has secured a clean sweep in the ODI series against Bangladesh, winning the final match by chasing down 321 with 25 balls to spare. Debutant Amir Jangoo led the charge with a magnificent 104 not out, complemented by Keacy Carty's 95, as they anchored the victory.

The foundation for the West Indies' victory was laid by the fifth-wicket partnership between Jangoo and Carty, who posted an impressive 132 runs. They were then supported by Gudakesh Motie, who joined the party late in the game to help secure the unbroken 91-run stand. Meanwhile, Bangladesh's star-studded batting lineup, featuring four half-centuries from Mehidy Hasan Miraz (77), Soumya Sarkar (73), Soumyma Sadman Islam (62), and Mahmudullah (84*), finished just shy of securing a compelling total.

Bangladesh's hopes of making a late comeback were crushed when they lost four wickets in the last four overs for just 59 runs, making their score not enough to surpass the target set by the confident Windies. Mahmudullah's 84* off 66 deliveries was simply not enough to guide Bangladesh to a win as the Caribbean team claimed their third consecutive victory over the visiting side.

The win marks a new beginning for West Indies cricket, with Jangoo's maiden ODI century displaying promise for the future. Amasssed with an undefeated unbroken partnership, the Windies secured a series sweep, adding yet another feather to their cap.
