Joe Root has become the fastest batter to reach 13,000 Test runs, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar and joining an elite group of players including Jacques Kallis, Rahul Dravid, and Ricky Ponting, achieving the milestone on day one of the one-off Test against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge.

Root completed 28 runs in the 80th over to join the exclusive club, making him the fifth player overall and the first from England to reach 13,000 Test runs.
