Jyoti Malhotra Arrested for Spying for Pakistan
Malhotra's alleged spying activities have sparked a nationwide investigation, with multiple arrests made and more expected to follow. The case highlights the importance of protecting sensitive information and the need for vigilance in preventing espionage activities.

A Haryana-based travel blogger, Jyoti Malhotra, has been arrested for allegedly spying and passing sensitive information to Pakistani operatives, sparking a nationwide investigation into a network spanning across Haryana and Punjab.
Malhotra, who ran the YouTube channel "Travel with Jo," visited Pakistan twice in 2023 and came into contact with a staffer at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi. She allegedly shared sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence officials, including Indian military information, through platforms like WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Telegram.
The 33-year-old YouTuber was arrested from Haryana's Hisar and booked under the Official Secrets Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act. She has been placed under five-day police remand, and other arrests have been made in the case, including a security guard and a student, who were also accused of sharing sensitive information with Pakistani officials.
Investigations revealed that Malhotra had met an official, Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, in the Pakistan High Commission and had gone to the neighbouring country at least twice. She also met Ali Ahwan, who arranged for her stay and travel in the country, and shared information with Pakistani security and intelligence officials.
The arrest of Jyoti Malhotra has raised concerns about the security of sensitive information and the potential for espionage activities in the region. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
