Ben Wang and Maya Hawke have joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, a prequel to the bestselling series by Suzanne Collins, set 24 years before Katniss Everdeen's time and following the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games.

The film, scheduled for release on November 20, 2026, has already broken records with 1.5 million copies sold in its first week. Wang will play the role of Wyatt, while Hawke will portray Wiress, a former Hunger Games champion-turned-District 12 mentor. The movie is directed by Francis Lawrence, who has directed every Hunger Games installment since 2012's Catching Fire.

The cast also includes Joseph Zada, Mckenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Lili Taylor, with Ralph Fiennes playing the role of President Snow. This will be the third time the character has been portrayed, following Donald Sutherland and Tom Blyth.
