Thai Airways has cancelled flights to major Pakistani cities, including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, due to ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India, causing disruptions to flight operations across the country.

The cancellations include flights TG341 and TG342 to Karachi, as well as flights TG345 and TG346 to Lahore, and TG349 and TG350 to Islamabad, which have been suspended until Thursday. This decision has resulted in serious inconvenience to thousands of travelers, with numerous cancellations and delays of both inbound and outbound flights.

Despite the reopening of Pakistan's airspace after the ceasefire with India, flight operations remained disrupted on Sunday. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and some private carriers have resumed limited operations, but 30 scheduled flights, including 25 operated by international airlines, were canceled at Islamabad International Airport. Similar disruptions were observed at other major airports, including Jinnah International Airport in Karachi and Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

According to aviation expert Qasir Ansari, the cancellations can be attributed to operational factors, such as the need for coordination of aircraft, crew, and catering, which foreign and private airlines need time to reorganize after the sudden closure and reopening of airspace. Additionally, some airlines have prioritized flights to Saudi Arabia for Haj pilgrims over domestic routes, contributing to further delays and cancellations.

The situation highlights the challenges faced by airlines and travelers in the region, with the need for careful planning and coordination to ensure smooth flight operations. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how airlines, including Air Arabia, will respond to the ongoing tensions and disruptions in the region.
