Okanagan Brothers Arrested on Sex Trafficking Charges
Miami Dade Circuit Court Judge Mindy S. Glazer has made a landmark decision, ruling to hold Oren Alexander, a high-end real estate broker, and his twin brother Alon Alexander, without bail on sex trafficking charges. The brothers, co-founders of the luxury real estate firm Official, are accused of collaborating to drug, sexually assault, and rape numerous victims, using their wealth and influence to exploit them.
According to the New York indictment, the Alexander brothers preyed on their victims, often luring them with promises of romantic relationships, free travel, and other luxuries. The Florida charges specifically relate to two incidents: a reported gang rape in 2016 and a sexual assault in 2017. Alon Alexander is also accused of a third incident in 2018. The prosecution asserts that all three Alexander brothers are flight risks and should be detained until trial, citing their vast resources and connections.
The Alexander brothers, including twins Oren and Alon, and their older brother Tal, were initially arrested in Miami on a federal indictment charging them with conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. The indictment details how the brothers allegedly used violence, threats, and coercion to manipulate dozens of women, some of whom were incapacitated by drugs and unable to escape. These women, who attended high-end parties in Miami and New York, reported hearing the brothers speak candidly about "gang rapes" and boasting about their actions.
Separate sexual battery charges were brought against the Alexander brothers in Miami Beach. Although attorneys for the brothers assert that the evidence will exonerate them, multiple women have filed civil lawsuits against the brothers, accusing them of rape and assault.
The Alexander brothers' arrest has sparked a renewed focus on the prevalence of sex trafficking and the influential figures who perpetuate it. As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how the evidence will be presented and how the judicial system will address these allegations.
