US President Donald Trump revealed plans to increase trade with India and Pakistan, while praising the ceasefire understanding between the two nations, in a recent post on Truth Social, aiming to find a solution to the Kashmir issue after a prolonged period of tension.

The US President expressed pride in the leadership of both India and Pakistan for agreeing to stop the current aggression, which had brought the nations to the brink of a fifth war. The ceasefire understanding was brokered by the US after receiving "alarming intelligence" and holding talks with Indian and Pakistani officials, resulting in a truce declared at 5 pm IST, with all firing stopping on land, air, and sea.

Tensions between India and Pakistan had escalated following India's military strike in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, leading to regular fire and strikes for four days, triggering panic, blackouts, and air raid sirens across border towns. However, despite the ceasefire, blackouts were reimposed with sirens blaring in parts of India just hours later.

The US President's announcement to increase trade with both countries is seen as a positive step towards improving relations between India and Pakistan, and finding a lasting solution to the Kashmir issue, which has been a major point of contention between the two nations for decades.
