NADRA Updates Fee Structure for Child Registration Certificate
Pakistan's National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced changes to the fee structure for the Child Registration Certificate (CRC) or B Form, an essential document for minors in the country. The update aims to provide efficient and accessible registration services for children, ensuring every Pakistani has the right to hold a document from birth, according to the authority.
The updated fee structure, which will be effective as of December 2024, sets the cost of obtaining a CRC at Rs50 for regular services and Rs500 for expedited executive services. Parents can now register their children at any NADRA office, providing the required documentation, which includes a computerized birth certificate and proof of identity for at least one parent.
To register their children at the NADRA office, parents must follow a straightforward process. The family must visit the office with the child's computerized birth certificate and at least one parent holding a valid National Identity Card (NIC) or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). In the case of children aged 10 and above, additional documentation, including a photograph and fingerprints, may be required. Once the application is processed, the NADRA will issue the Child Registration Certificate (CRC) or B Form, a mandatory step for minors in Pakistan as enshrined in the law.
NADRA's effort to streamline and make registration more accessible showcases the importance of safeguarding children's rights through proper documentation. Before applying, parents are advised to confirm the required documents and fees to avoid delays and ensure their child is formally registered.
