Tragedy Strikes Bahawalpur, Drowning Incidents Claim Lives

Two young boys, aged 9 and 12, lost their lives while swimming in a canal in Yazman, Bahawalpur, after their bodies were recovered 1km and 13km away from the spot following a 9-hour search by Rescue 1122.

The incident occurred in the 2-R Dera Nawab Sahib Branch Canal, where the boys had been swimming since the afternoon. Rescue 1122 launched a search operation and found their bodies after a lengthy search. The tragic event has raised concerns about the safety of children in the area, particularly near water bodies.

In a separate incident, a man named Mukhtar Ahmed was kidnapped by katcha gangs in Bahawalpur after being lured with cheap solar plates by a woman. The kidnappers posted a video of him online, pleading with his family to pay the ransom. Police have registered a kidnapping case and are investigating the matter.

Additionally, two minor boys died in separate incidents in Hasilpur. Eight-year-old Asad died when a temporary straw ceiling collapsed on him, while nine-year-old Fahad was hit by a tractor-trolley and died. These incidents highlight the need for increased awareness and safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
