Kiara Advani Stuns at Met Gala 2025 with Gaurav Gupta
With her stunning ensemble and heartfelt tribute to her baby, Kiara Advani stole the show at the Met Gala 2025, alongside other notable attendees like Rihanna, Janelle Monáe, and Diana Ross, who all paid homage to individual Black icons and the history of Black dandyism.
The Met Gala 2025 took place on May 5, with the theme "Tailored for You" inspired by the Costume Institute's exhibition "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," and Kiara Advani made her debut at the event in a stunning black-gold-white ensemble designed by Gaurav Gupta. The actress, who is expecting her first child, incorporated a heart-shaped mini plate with her baby's name into her outfit, paying tribute to femininity, lineage, and transformation.
The event honored the history of Black dandyism, with many attendees putting a contemporary spin on zoot suits. The red carpet was awash with exaggerated suiting, from Doja Cat's 1980s-inspired Marc Jacobs blazer to Lupita Nyong'o's all-aquamarine Chanel look. Other standout tailored looks included Zendaya's Louis Vuitton three-piece and Tessa Thompson's menswear-inspired look featuring a wide-shouldered black tuxedo with a trailing cape.
Kiara Advani and Sonam Kapoor both wore a metal breastplate designed by Gaurav Gupta, with Kiara's ensemble featuring a gold breastplate with ghungroos and crystals, and Sonam's look featuring a sculptured satin detailing and a figure-hugging metallic breastplate. Both actresses styled their looks with confidence, with Kiara opting for a simple makeup look and Sonam using a nude base with pink lipstick.
