Afghanistan Bowler Faces Unseen Hurdle in Zimbabwe

Updated :

In a bizarre incident during the ongoing T20I match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, Afghan bowler Rashid Khan experienced an unusual technical glitch with the team's radar system, forcing him to rebowl a delivery five times beforefinally completing it legally.

The unexpected issue marred the match on the second ball of Rashid Khan's second over. As he began his run-up, the radar system in the team's dressing room technicians' room jammed, leaving the bowler oblivious to the proceedings. The umpires were unsure how to proceed, as they refer to the radar system to call a no-ball or not. To resolve the issue, the bowler, with the oversight of the umpire, was asked to rebowl the delivery.

However, the continuation of the issue caused the Afghan bowler to face further delay, forcing him to go through the process of rebowling the delivery a total of five times before he did it legally and sufficiently without the radar malfunctioning. His fifth attempt eventually resulted in a legitimate run-up, during which he threw a determination delivery, completely none would occur before that as he snatched the potential 100th dismissal he caught 6 wickets with this specific delivery and Keshav Maharaj did subsequent run out of bail.

This unusual technical hitch aside, both teams are determined to see out the ongoing T20I series. Cricket officials are expected to investigate the cause of the malfunction to ensure it doesn't occur again.
