Australia Women Surpass 300, Annabel Sutherland Records Second ODI Century

Updated :

Australia Women secured a convincing 122-run victory in the second ODI against India Women, taking a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Annabel Sutherland's second ODI century played a pivotal role, as she guided her team to a total of 371/8 in 50 overs, their highest score against India.

Qantasilan Malolan's knock of 79 runs in 64 deliveries, including nine boundaries and two sixes, helped India reach 154/4 before being restricted to 249/9 in 45 overs. Richa Ghosh and Minnu Mani were the top scorers for India, with 54 and 46 runs respectively, while Deepti Sharma was the only Indian bowler to concede under 6 runs per over in her 10 overs.

The Australian team got off to a flying start, with Georgia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield putting on a 130-run opening stand. Voll reached her 43-ball fifty in the 16th over, before being eventually dismissed for 101. Ellyse Perry then took over, scoring her 72-ball century at a brisk pace and taking the team to over 300. Perry's counter-attack helped Australia reach 371/8, and the team eventually secured a 2-0 lead in the series.

The third and final match of the series is scheduled to be played at the WACA in Perth on a hot and bouncy pitch, with the temperature expected to reach 39 degrees Celsius. Australia, who made an unchanged squad, will face India, who made two changes with Arundhati Reddy and Titas Sadhu coming in for Priya Punia and legspinner Priya Mishra due to the latter's left knee injury.
