Seifert will join Allen, who is already part of the San Francisco Unicorns, and former Northern Districts teammate Corey Anderson. The duo, known as "New Zealand's Bash Brothers," is expected to bring explosive opening stands to the team.

Seifert, 30, has played for several teams, including KKR in the IPL 2021, Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022, and is currently playing for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. He has committed to being available for all of New Zealand's T20I series leading up to the 2026 T20 World Cup. Seifert expressed his excitement to join the Unicorns, citing the team's talent and potential to improve on last year's runner-up finish.

Unicorns head coach Shane Watson praised Seifert's cricketing skills and character, noting his skills with the gloves and impressive form with the bat. Other New Zealand players, including Michael Bracewell, Daryl Mitchell, and Adam Milne, have also signed with various MLC franchises. Daryll Mitchell, who played for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024, has joined the Texas Super Kings.

The signing of Seifert and the reunion with Finn Allen is expected to boost the San Francisco Unicorns' chances in the 2025 MLC season. With their explosive opening stands and talented team, the Unicorns are looking to improve on last year's performance and bring home the championship title.
