Former University of Arizona Standout and Georgia Tech Alumni Compete in Key Golf and Sports Events
Several former standout athletes from the University of Arizona and Georgia Tech are gearing up to compete in key golf and sports events. The stage is set at the Final Stage of Q-School presented by Korn Ferry, the Grant Thornton Invitational, and LIV Golf Promotions, where several notables hope to secure their spots on the PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour in 2025.
Among the competitors, former Catalina Foothills standout Gavin Cohen, who played as a freshman for the University of Arizona, has qualified for the Final Stage of Q-School after a strong performance in the Second Stage in Alabama. Aware of the stiff competition, Cohen aims for a spot among the top five and ties to earn 2025 PGA TOUR membership. Meanwhile, five Georgia Tech alums, including Christo Lamprecht, Connor Howe, Seth Reeves, Ross Steelman, and Richy Werenski, are also vying for a spot, with Lamprecht specifically aiming for his first PGA TOUR card or guaranteed Korn Ferry Tour starts in 2025.
In addition to golf, other Georgia Tech alumni, Ollie and Luke Schniederjans, will participate in the LIV Golf Promotions, which offers an opportunity to secure a spot in the LIV Golf League and The International Series in 2025. The Schniederjans will be joined by a strong field of golfers competing in this prestigious event.
As the competition unfolds, golf enthusiasts will be keeping a close eye on Justin Suh, Tyler Duncan, Brandon Wu, Roberto Diaz, and Hayden Buckley, who are considered among the top contenders for the PGA Tour Q-School. Their past performances and strengths in golf will be crucial in determining their success in these upcoming events. As the sport awaits its next crop of talented players, these athletes are poised to make their mark on the golf world.
