A bronze statue of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol from the iconic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is set to be unveiled in London's Leicester Square in Spring 2025, celebrating the film's 30-year anniversary and its enduring impact on romance and Indian cinema.

The statue, featuring the couple in the film's famous "Palat!" pose, will be the first-ever tribute to Indian cinema in Leicester Square and is expected to be a major tourist attraction. The film, directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Raj Films, follows the romance between two non-resident Indians, Raj and Simran, who fall in love during a European vacation.

The statue will be part of the "Scenes in the Square" movie trail and will be positioned outside the Odeon cinema, honoring the scene from the film where Raj and Simran first meet. This is a significant milestone, as it marks the first time an Indian movie has been represented in the trail, which also features Hollywood stars.

The unveiling of the statue is a testament to the film's lasting legacy, which has remained the gold standard for romance for over two decades. The statue is set to be unveiled in spring 2025, ahead of the film's 30th anniversary on October 20, 2025, and is expected to be a celebration of the film's impact on Indian cinema and romance.
