Premier League Star Mohamed Salah Sought After by Inter Miami Amid Contract Feud

Updated :

Liverpool's star forward Mohamed Salah, 32, continues to attract attention from top clubs around the globe, as Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit Inter Miami makes a massive offer to secure his services if he becomes a free agent in the summer. The Egyptian international has been in high demand, earning interest from Saudi clubs, European powerhouses, and even his own former club, Barcelona.

Salah's impressive goal-scoring form for Liverpool, with 13 goals in the Premier League alongside Erling Haaland, has caught the attention of rival clubs. Other suitors include PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Al-Ittihad, and Barcelona, which is exploring alternative revenue streams to strengthen their financial position after the pandemic. The club is reportedly considering selling VIP seating rights at the Spotify Nou Camp for a staggering €200m to fund a potential move for Salah.

Gary Neville, the former Manchester United and England defender, has praised Salah's form, stating that Cody Gakpo has equalled him as the best player in the Premier League. Gakpo's impressive performances, which included two goals in the 4-3 win against Spurs, have earned him recognition alongside Salah. However, it remains to be seen whether Gakpo can continue this form throughout the season, while Salah struggles to stay at Liverpool. The forward's negotiations over an extension have not led to a resolution, increasing the likelihood of him becoming a free agent in the summer.

It will be fascinating to see how the summer unfolds for Salah, who continues to be one of the top players in the Premier League. With attractive offers from Inter Miami and other clubs, the experienced forward may choose to seek new opportunities in the MLS or Middle East, rather than committing to his current club. One thing is certain: the departure of Salah would leave Liverpool facing a challenge in maintaining its current top-four position and durations of its season.
