Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have been granted a divorce by mutual consent, ending their marriage that began in December 2020. The couple had filed a joint petition in February 2025, after separating in June 2022, and were present in the family court in Bandra for the proceedings.

The Bombay High Court waived the six-month cooling-off period required under the Hindu Marriage Act, citing the couple's compliance with the consent terms. As part of the divorce settlement, Chahal was required to pay Rs 4.75 crore to Verma, with a portion of the amount already paid. The couple had undergone mediation efforts but the family court initially refused to waive the cooling-off period.

Chahal, who will rejoin the Punjab Kings camp for the IPL 2025 opener, has been in the news recently for his personal life, with speculation about a possible romantic involvement with social media star RJ Mahvash, which she has denied. The cricketer made headlines during the divorce hearing by wearing a customized T-shirt with the message "Be Your Own Sugar Daddy".

The divorce marks the end of the couple's marriage, which lasted for over three years. Chahal and Verma had been living apart since June 2022, and their decision to part ways has been formalized with the court's approval. The couple's divorce settlement, including the payment of alimony, has been agreed upon, with the remaining amount to be settled following the divorce decree.
