Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Jerome Kapelus, CEO of US-based IT company Afiniti, to discuss investment opportunities in Pakistan's IT sector, highlighting the country's potential to compete globally.
During the meeting, Sharif emphasized the government's efforts to equip the country's youth with IT, AI, and advanced technology skills, aiming to reach $25 billion in IT exports. He welcomed Afiniti's interest in investing in Pakistan's IT sector and suggested establishing a world-class call center to cater to both national and international customers.
Kapelus praised the expertise of Pakistani IT professionals, noting that Pakistan's IT sector is conducive to investment and business. With over 1,000 Pakistani professionals currently working at Afiniti Pakistan, the company sees immense potential in the country's youth to advance the IT sector. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb briefed the delegation on tax reforms, assuring them of a conducive business environment for the IT and agriculture sectors.
