Chelsea have agreed to sign 17-year-old Sporting winger Geovany Quenda for around £40m, with the deal expected to be a seven-year contract and an option for an extra season. Quenda, who has three Portugal Under-21 caps, will join Chelsea in 2026, bringing his speed, skills, and ability to beat defenders to the team.

Quenda has been linked to Manchester United, but Chelsea believe he is versatile enough to play on either flank, making him a valuable addition to their squad. He has impressed scouts with his performances, scoring two goals and having eight assists in 43 matches for Sporting since breaking into the first team. The young winger's ability to play on either side will provide Chelsea with more options in their attack.

The transfer fee is reportedly €45-50 million, and Quenda will remain at Sporting CP next season before joining Chelsea on a 7-year contract until 2033 with an option to extend by 12 months. This move is part of a larger trend of clubs showing interest in signing young players, with Bayern Munich also eyeing Nico Williams, a 22-year-old winger.

The signing of Quenda is a significant move for Chelsea, and it will be interesting to see how he develops and contributes to the team in the future. With his potential and versatility, he could become a key player for the club in the years to come.
