Liverpool's star player Mohamed Salah has caught the attention of former Arsenal winger Robert Pires, who praises his exceptional positioning, ability to sense defensive mistakes, and irresistible presence on the pitch, making him one of the best wingers in the world.

Pires, a legendary Arsenal player who won the 1998 World Cup and two Premier League titles, including the Invincibles team of 2003/04, believes Salah's effectiveness stems from his ability to control the ball, anticipate mistakes, and move towards goal quickly. He highlighted a clip from earlier in the season where Salah controlled the ball and sent it towards goal, showcasing his ability to play as a winger and a striker.

Pires' own career was influenced by his coach at Metz, Philippe Hinschberger, who told him to play on the left side despite his right foot being his stronger foot. Pires discovered that playing on the left side gave him multiple advantages, including a wider range of attacking options and the ability to use his peripheral vision to his advantage. He has identified several modern wingers who have impressed him, including Bukayo Saka, Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, praising their technical ability, speed, and ability to score goals and provide assists.

As Salah reaches new heights this season, with some considering him a favourite to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or, Pires' praise is a testament to his exceptional skills and dedication to the sport. With his impressive performance, Salah continues to wow fans and critics alike, solidifying his position as one of the best wingers in the world.
