The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin, with Bangladesh national team captain Najmul Hossain Shanto expressing high hopes for leg-spinner Rishad Hossain's performance, believing he can play a crucial role in the team's success in the tournament.

The tournament, taking place from February 19 to March 9, 2025, in Pakistan and the UAE, will feature 8 teams, including Pakistan, with India playing its matches in the UAE due to geopolitical tensions. The top 7 teams from the 2023 ODI World Cup and the host nation, Pakistan, will qualify for the tournament. Bangladesh will face India in their first match, following a defeat against Pakistan Shaheens in a warm-up game.

Rishad Hossain, who has yet to make his mark in the 50-over format, has taken five wickets in seven ODIs. Despite this, his teammates Soumya Sarkar and Tanzim Hasan Sakib praise his potential, highlighting his ability to take wickets and score runs. Shanto hopes Rishad will bowl well and contribute to the team's success, citing his suitability for the flat wickets of Pakistan.

The ICC Champions Trophy has a rich history, with India winning the tournament twice, in 2002 and 2013, and holding the record for the most ICC Champions Trophy wins. Chris Gayle is the highest run-scorer in ICC Champions Trophy history, scoring 791 runs in 17 matches. The tournament will be streamed live on JioHotstar in India, and tickets can be purchased on the official ICC website, with a prize money of $6.9 million, and the winning team receiving $2.24 million.

As the tournament begins, all eyes will be on Rishad Hossain and the Bangladesh team, hoping to make a mark in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. With the team's support and Rishad's potential, they might just surprise everyone with their performance.
