Deva Council Elects Vice Mayor Sorin Lavu Amidst Ongoing Developments
The election of Sorin-Tudor Lavu as vice mayor marks a significant development in Deva's local politics, while the city's social assistance initiatives continue to make a positive impact on the community, with a focus on promoting health, education, and well-being among its residents, particularly in the deva municipality.

Sorin-Tudor Lavu, a 44-year-old economist and member of the PSD, has been elected as one of the vice mayors of Deva, receiving 15 votes from the local council, while the election of the second vice mayor remains pending due to lack of majority votes for any candidate.
The Consiliul Local Deva convened an extraordinary meeting to elect the vice mayors, where Lavu emerged as the sole elected candidate. The election of the second vice mayor, however, was inconclusive, with none of the four proposed candidates securing the required majority. The council will need to convene another meeting to resolve this issue. Meanwhile, Primar Lucian Rus expressed his hope that the second vice mayor would be elected soon, allowing them to form a strong and dedicated team for the development of Deva.
In other news, the Deva Social Assistance Directorate has distributed medical supplies and medicines worth over 35,000 lei to 23 medical cabinets in schools and kindergartens, providing free consultations and treatments to approximately 8,000 preschoolers and students. This initiative aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and physical activity among children and adolescents, and is part of the directorate's ongoing efforts to support the local community.
As the local council continues to address the pending election of the second vice mayor, the city of Deva remains focused on providing essential services and support to its residents, with the Deva Social Assistance Directorate playing a vital role in ensuring the well-being of its citizens, particularly in the education sector.
