The highly anticipated romantic action thriller, Thandel, is set to release in theaters tomorrow, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in key roles, bringing a true story to life on the big screen.

The film, directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts, tells the story of a fisherman who unintentionally strays into Pakistani waters and his fight to reunite with his homeland and love. The movie is inspired by real events from Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam region and pays tribute to the late former Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, who worked to secure the release of 22 Indian fishermen detained in Pakistan.

In a recent chat session, Naga Chaitanya revealed why Thandel is special, saying it's a very personal film with honest and true characters. He also expressed his craving for a hit after almost two years without a release. The film's producer, Allu Aravind, explained that Sai Pallavi was chosen for the lead role due to her genuineness and rootedness in projecting the character, which was a commercial decision.

The film's storyline is inspired by a 2018 incident where Indian fishermen were captured and imprisoned by Pakistani forces. The movie tells the story of the rescue mission and features footage from a press conference by Sushma Swaraj, courtesy of her daughter Bansuri Swaraj, who granted permission to use her mother's name and footage in the film.

With the film set to release on February 7, fans are eagerly waiting to watch the romantic action thriller, which is expected to bring a decent to good opening at the box office. The duo of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi has returned to the screen after three years, and their chemistry is expected to be a major highlight of the film.
